Virtual 30 Challenge
A Publix first in virtual races.
Scope: During the Covid-19 pandemic, Publix set out to create a first of it’s kind virtual race for Publix fans. The purpose was to get moving in whatever way was most comfortable for you. From riding a bike, to walk, or running. All experience levels were welcomed to join this month long challenge. The goal; complete 30 miles in 30 days during the month of June.
Role: Lead Motion Designer. After receiving graphic assets from the art director and designer I went to work on the social animation. With the help of Mixamo’s full body character animations I was able to bring to life the 3D models of runners and walkers. Since this was a virtual challenge the phone was the center icon of focus for the project.
There was a second video that I made that went out on social but I was unable to find it. That video had a slightly different message and a much more dynamic feel. The phone was set to a 3 quarters angle with the walkers/runners appearing to walk across the surface of the screen.
